Call for teacher exchange

Baltic Sea Region – Caucasus Network provides an excellent opportunity to gain interna-tional teaching experience in Finland, Belarus or Georgia. Based on applications, the network will select eight lecturers to participate in the teacher exchange and to deliver their lecture courses in the spring semester 2013.

The call for teacher exchange for spring semester 2013 is open until 31 October 2012.

Terms of the teacher exchange
•    Teaching 10 hours (minimum) during a two week period. All the BASERCAN lec-ture courses will be part of the curriculum of the host university.
•    Language of the lecture courses is English.
•    Accommodation and travel costs of selected teachers will be covered. The network will also grant a daily allowance of about 35 € / day. The Aleksanteri Institute will take care of booking the accommodation in Helsinki and return flights to Finland.

Teaching in Finland
•    Aleksanteri Institute is able to host Georgian and Belarusian lecturers between the period of March–May 2013.
•    Aleksanteri Institute invites course proposals from the field of social sciences with a focus to post-soviet space, South Caucasus and Belarus.
•    The participants of the teacher exchange will get an opportunity to establish new professional contacts which may lead to interesting collaborations in the future. Selected teachers will also get an opportunity to use the excellent library services of the University of Helsinki.

Complete and submit an electronic application form at:https: //elomake.helsinki.fi/lomakkeet/37552/lomake.html. Please provide basic informa-tion about the proposed lecture course. Attach your CV including a list of relevant publica-tions. The deadline for application is 31 October 2012.Results of the teacher exchange will be available by the end of November 2012. The next call for teacher exchange will be opened in the spring of 2013.

About the Baltic Sea Region – Caucasus Network
Baltic Sea Region – Caucasus Network receives funding from the North-South-South Higher Education Institution Network Programme (North-South-South) which is financed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland through the development cooperation funds. CIMO, Centre for International Mobility in Finland coordinates the whole North-South-South programme.

The Baltic Sea Region – Caucasus Network is coordinated by the Aleksanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki. The project started in the beginning of June 2012. The current funding period will last until the end of August 2014. The aim of the network is to strengthen higher education cooperation between universities in Finland, Belarus and Georgia. Activities of the network include: student and teacher exchanges, network and administrative meetings and an intensive course to take place in Tbilisi in the autumn of 2013.
