


Visual Anthropology Laboratory Expedition
On August 10-17, 2013 the expedition of six people (the leader of the group professor Paata Bukhrashvili) worked in Tusheti. The aim of the expedition was to find artifacts and loacate them in the frames of university research project - "Ethnographic Dictionary of Georgia". The aim also was the preparation for the future archeological work.
a) For finding material for dictionary the expedition visited the exposition in Omalo Local Lore Museum (director Nugzar Idiodze) and was introduced to its funds. Single exhibits were photographed and graphically fixed.
b) After surface examination the settlement near Upper Omalo (Jvarisgora) was chosen for future archeological work.
c) The members of expedition also visited villages - Parsma, Girevi, Dartlo, Shenako, Diklo, Dochu, Bochorma.
d) The new research topic was identified - "Tusheti in Georgian State Security System - Pirikita Alazani Valley in the Historical-Ethnographic Perspective (Darto-Parsma-Girevi Defensive Line).
