Unilab at School: Funded Courses for Pupils

Ilia State University and Cyber Laboratory UniLab offer the educational project “Unilab at School” to pupils of secondary schools all over Georgia.
The project “Unilab at School” will be implemented remotely for pupils of grades VIII-XII.
Students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with modern professions in the format of open lectures, as well as to obtain funding from Ilia State University and to take one of the three practical courses of the programming direction of Cyber Laboratory UniLab of Iliauni:
Ilia State University will fully cover the cost of the course for the selected candidates.
Stages of the Project
The project will be implemented in three stages.
- In the first stage, students will learn about modern professions at open lecture and prepare for the second stage of the project. In particular, students will complete test tasks based on the knowledge gained at open lectures, the successful completion of which will determine the possibility of obtaining funding and passing the course;
- In the second stage, selected students who will receive funding from Ilia State University will take one of three practical courses (Graphic Design; Unity 3D; C#); The educational process will be conducted in a synchronous-distance learning format. Each course includes 14 lectures. After completing the course, students will work on real projects;
- In the third stage, students will have the opportunity to work on real projects for 1 month based on the knowledge acquired during the course. Lecturers will provide them with consultations during this period.
Project participants will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge in modern professions, use Unilab's space, ask questions, receive advice and recommendations from experienced lecturers and students, work on real projects and put the acquired knowledge into practice.
Prize
The final projects completed by the students will be assessed by the project jury. A project will be chosen within each course. Its author will be awarded with a conditional scholarship voucher of Ilia State University*, as well as various prizes established by our partner organizations.
Who can participate in the project?
Any pupil of grades VIII-XII who is interested in modern technology, wants to deepen his/her knowledge in this field and successfully fills out the application form by December 8, 2022 can participate in the project.

Who will teach me?
The participants of the course will be given theoretical knowledge and in the process of working on real projects will be mentored by the practicing lecturers of the Cyber Laboratory Unilab in accordance with the chosen course.
Graphic Design: Nene Arabuli, UI/UX designer. She has completed the UI/UX course of Geolab and has worked on the design of sites and applications for a number of companies.
Unity 3D: Tamta Asatiani, a Game Developer who has been working on games from the age of fifteen and participated in the creation of many games and in various projects of the Ministry of Education of Georgia during these years.
C#: Varlam Dadiani has been working as a backend developer at Odrex Software since 2019. He taught C# lectures at Geolab.

Participation in the project gives you the opportunity to:
- receive more information about future professions;
- discover your field of interest from an early age and deepen knowledge accordingly;
- get acquainted with information that is not included in the school program;
- master the basics of the profession you are interested in through theoretical knowledge and practical tasks;
- make new friends from the world of technology.
