


Training - Stopping Domestic Violence, Protecting and Helping Victims
LEPL Georgian Lawyers' Association Learning Center organized training "Stopping Domestic Violence, Protecting and Helping Victims" for Ilia State University Law School students. Training was implemented in scope of the UN program "Developing Gender Equality in Georgia".
The Center's experts, Ana Loria and Medea Matiashvili lead the training. It concerned several important issues:
- Main theories on domestic violence
- Reasons of domestic violence; why does the victim stay with the violent person
- Review of international mechanism regarding domestic violence
- Review of Georgian law regarding domestic violence, administrative and criminal law mechanisms
Ilia State University Law School Juniors and Seniors and 20 M.A. students that first registered for the training could participate.
