The  2nd Steering Committee Meeting & Study Visit of WASTEnet:
A BLACK SEA NETWORK PROMOTING THE INTEGRATED NATURAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEMS was held On 10-11 January, 2014 in Tulcea, Romania.

 The Meeting will be hosted by Danube Delta National Institute for Research & Development – DDNI, which is the Romanian  Partner in a Consortium that includes 9 Partners from 7 countries.

The  WASTEnet project’s aim is to disseminate the technology of artificial wetlands as an environment-friendly, low cost and innovative method of wastewater treatment, with an emphasis on the implementation of the rural communities. Its duration is two years, from 01/07/2013 to 30/06/2015, with a total approved budget of € 633.302,33, 90% co-funded by the Program "Black Sea Basin". Lead partner of the project is the Kavala Municipal Water and Sewerage Enterprise-DEYAK from Greece and the Partners are   Democritus University of Thrace(Greece), the American University of Armenia, Ilia State University(Georgia) the Danube Delta National Institute (Romania), the Odessa  State Administration (Ukraine), the  Non-governmental organization ECO-TIRAS of Moldova,  Yalova University and the Kocaeli Water Supply and Sewerage Administration from Turkey.

From Georgian side  Professors of Ilia State University Zurab Javakhishvili and Ketevan Kupatadze have been participating.
During the meeting was   done presentations about all activities of the project: Increasing public  awareness, Increasing sector expertise, Visibility of the Action, Analysis and Presentation of local stakeholders, beneficiaries and target groups linked   to WASTEnet. The next meeting will be done in Odessa, Ukraine.
