The Reform of Georgian Judiciary System

On December 13, Constitution Research Centre at Ilia State University organized ISU students meeting with the first Deputy Minister of Justice Mr. David Jandieri. The topic of the meeting was the reform of Georgian Judiciary System.

In the beginning Mr. David presented his biography to the public. He talked about the suits that are addressed to the European Court of Human Rights from Georgia, reform of the Process of Criminal Justice and abolition of consecutive principles. The first Deputy also mentioned new project on basis of which Ministry of Justice will be deprived from the Criminal Law prosecution. The discussion included issues of isolation of General Prosecution from the Ministry and that the General Prosecutor will not be the Minister any more. D. Jandieri also talked about court reform and other important matters. In the end guest answered questions from students.
