The Debate Club at Ilia State University
The Debate Club at Ilia State University from the period of its foundation up today is actively organizing public debates about various timely topics. The members and the head of the club always try to keep an interesting atmosphere for the public debates.
Recently, the public debates took place in the "youth centre". The debated topic was student self-government. The debate was attended by the students and administration of Akhaltsikhe University, Debate Club members from Tbilisi, participants of the debates and the referees.
As this topic is very hot the game was very interesting.
Participants presented their cases. They successfully dealt with their functions. The referees passed their final verdict and the opposing team won the game. The game was well approved by the hosts. Above mentioned public debate served many aims. On the one hand, it helped new members of the club to socialize and integrate fast and effectively in the club and to quickly master debate techniques. On the other hand, the bases for the collaboration with the Akhaltsikhe University were established. Akhaltsikhe University expressed interest in Debate Club and shared a will to get involved in the shared tournaments.
