


Student Success
A student conference was held in International Relations University in Moscow on April 11. It was organized by Eastern Europe Dutch Studies Union. Two students from Ilia State University Dutch Language and Culture Center successfully performed at the conference. More than 100 students and teachers from Russia, Belarus, Georgia and Armenia participated in this event. Georgian students took part in round table discussions on seven different topics and essay competition:
- ISU Art School Senior Marika Manjikashvili, whose minor is Dutch Studies, placed second.
- ISU Business School Senior Mariam Odishelidze, whose minor is Dutch, Studies placed third.
ISU Dutch Language and Culture Center aims to interest Georgian students in Dutch language. The center annually sends successful students to Belgium for Dutch language and culture summer courses.
Marika Manjikashvili and Mariam Odishelidze received Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie) scholarship and will attend Ghent University summer courses this year.
