


Reporting on Children's Issues
On December 7 at Ilia State University UNICEF signed a memorandum of understanding with four Georgian higher education institutions. Ilia State University, Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and the University of Georgia will be introducing a new course on covering children issues, which will ensuring future generations of journalists report responsibly and respectfully on children.
“UNICEF is closely working with Georgian media in enhancing child-friendly reporting”, said Roeland Monasch, UNICEF Representative in Georgia. “Integrating the child rights’ syllabus in the schools of journalism in Georgia will help rising a new generation of journalists with a high sense of responsibility and professionalism. UNICEF will continue supporting universities in these efforts”, he added.
