Professor also talked about how the original concept of Evil was corrupted by personifying the evil and how the freedom of human being was lost by believing in devil. According to Prof. Rüdiger Safranski the question of evil in the philosophical sense of the word is connected to the problem of human nature. There was concluded in the lecture that evil is the price for freedom, though freedom is not the basis for evil and thus it [evil] should be understood as the drama of freedom of human beings. Prof. Safranski also paid attention to the confrontation with evil, historical phenomenon which was presented as Nazi politics directed towards destruction.
The meeting ended with the ceremony of awarding Professor Rüdiger Safranski the title of Honorary Doctor at Ilia State University.
