


Public Lecture by Dr. Robert Melnick
Ilia State University hosted the public lecture on “Challenges to a Sustainable World: Role of Public Policy in Georgia” by Dr. Robert Melnick, Professor at Arizona State University. The meeting was held within the framework of the agreement among Ilia State University and Columbia University, under the auspice of EWMI and USAID program “G-PAC”.
Dr. Melnick has been an Executive Dean of the Global Institute of Sustainability (GIOS) and Chief Operating Officer since 2008. Prior to this position, he served at Arizona State University (ASU) as Director of the Morrison Institute for Public Policy and Associate Vice- President for Economic Affairs; Senior Researcher and Vice-President of Hudson Institute. Dr. Melnick conducts research on urban growth and economic development. He is a co-author of three books and numerous public policy research studies. Rob Melnick holds a bachelor's degree in government from Dartmouth College and earned his master's degree and Ph.D. at Arizona State University.
