The open format summer school "From Sleep Science to Sleep Medicine" was opened at Ilia State University with the grant of the International Brain Research Organization and Ilia State University.

The course aims at developing the fundamental and clinical directions in the research of sleep in Georgia and the Caucasus Region and also training young scientists and sleep science specialists.

Another aim of the project is to popularize fundamental research of sleep as one of the important spheres in neuroscience and to identify the sleep disorder as the important problem of health care system.

The summer school is held in Kazbegi in an informal setting from 18 to 23 July.
