


L’Ordre des Palmes Académiques to ISU Professors
On February 16, 2011 Ketevan Jashi, full professor of ISU College of Art and Science and Irina Tukhulova, teacher of French Language at ISU Language Center were awarded with the order of Chevaliers de Palmes Académiques at the Residence of French Ambassador. Mzagho Dokhturishvili, full professor of the above-mentioned college was awarded with the Officier medal.
L’ ordre des Palmes Académiques established in 1808 by Napoleon Bonaparte is the oldest one after La Légion d’Honneur. It was renewed in 1955 to honor French and foreign citizens for their contributions in the field of education and active promotion of the French culture.
L’ ordre des Palmes Académiques comprises three grades: Chevalier, Officier and Comandeur. The latter was created in 1955. Moving from one grade to another is possible only after five years.
