LLOID'S RISK INDEX - Georgia

On September 5, Ilia State University hosted a research presentation "LLOID'S RISK INDEX - Georgia" prepared by Iliauni Business Review. The research was based on the model used by the representatives of the Company "LLOID'S" together with the Magazine "The Economist" in 2009 (during the crisis period). The research covered the whole world and aimed to study the attitude of 500 business leaders towards the business and environment risks. After the first research, the mentioned organizations carried out the assessment of the risks and their readiness periodically. The research was conducted by "Iliauni Business Review", with participation of the researchers of ISU Centre for Economic Researches and Consultations operating under the Department of Business.

The presentation was led by Giorgi Abashishvili, Deputy Dean of the Department of Business. As he argued, "Iliauni Business Review" researched the risk assessment by the business leaders of Georgia and their readiness as well. The leaders of 50 leader companies in Georgia were studied.

The companies were assessed according to four key categories:

  • Business and Strategic Risks
  • Economic and Market Risks
  • Environment-related Risks
  • Natural Risks

According to the research outcomes:

The high risk areas are the same in Georgia and the global world. It highlights that Georgia has become a part of the global world.

The division of the identical risks according to the spheres (Business, Economics, Environment and Natural Occasions).

Dislike the global world, the readiness of the business representatives to the risks is lower in Georgia.

The highest readiness is marked in the field of law change related risks. It underlines the positive expectations towards the law changes.
