Law School Conference

Ilia State University Law School holds a second student conference on April 4th. The topics of the conference are: private law, public law, and criminal law.

Students that wish to participate should present a statement addressed to the dean of Law School (appendix 1), a feasibility letter approved by the topic (paper) supervisor (appendix 2) and a small annotation of the paper written in Georgian and English.

The conference paper should comply with Ilia State University academic style (standards). The stages of the conference are:

On the 1st stage, papers are appraised by a committee comprised of the experts in the mentioned fields of law. Papers are scored by maximum of 60 points.

Students that receive scores of no less than 41 points move to the next level. Best three papers in each topic (private, public and criminal law) and students that win the 1st, 2nd, and 3d place are revealed on the second stage of the conference.

Best papers (9 papers) are printed in Ilia State University Law School 4th student conference collection of materials.

Students that were approved in the 2nd stage move to the 3d stage of the conference, which entails revealing of the best 3 papers out of the rest. Three best authors named at this stage are placed on prized places of the Ilia State University Law School 4th student conference. They receive special prizes provided by the organizations that support the conference.

The deadline for registration for the conference is February 15th, 2014, paper submission – March 25th, 2014. Registration for the conference takes place in dean’s office, room 402.

A Student from Ilia State University is Champion of Georgia

 

More than 100 representatives from the regions of Georgia participated in National Wrestling Championship held in a sport complex “Arena”. One of the competitors was a fourth-year student of Ilia State University, Bronze medal winner of 2011 European Championship, Zaal Kvachatadze.  He competes in 69 kg weight category. Three-time champion of Georgia was outstanding on the ring – he brilliantly beat four competitors, including Gela Abashidze from Batumi in the final and conquered the highest step of the pedestal for the 4th time. As one of the best wrestlers of the championship, Kvachatadze received a special prize from “Beeline”. The Ilia State University student will travel with the Georgian team to an international championship held in Bulgaria, in the second half of February.
