


Jennifer Tipton in Tbilisi
On March 6-9, with a support of US embassy in Georgia, Ilia State University invited and hosted Ms. Jennifer Tipton, a well-known American lighting designer. The meeting was held at ISU hall 101 and representatives of Georgian performing arts sphere, professors and students of the university attended it.
On March 7-8, Ms. Tipton held a workshop. Students and professors of different universities, Georgian theatre directors, producers, artists, light designers as well as staff members of the museums of Tbilisi attended the workshop. Ms. Tipton shared her experience with the audience. She works in leading theatres and colleges worldwide. She has obtained many prestigious theatrical awards in the lighting design.
David Sakhvarelidze, General Director of the Opera, pointed that Ms. Tipton is the best lighting designer and expressed his happiness that Gigi Tevzadze, Rector of Iia State University, always supports an implementing of innovations and initiatives.
Ms. Tipton shared her experience and vision with Georgian artists and lighting designers. She showed that lighting was not only technical side in theatre but also great creative process.
