Iliauni Rugby Player – the Champion of Europe
The university championship in rugby sevens ended in the capital city of Bulgaria Sophia where the team of Georgian universities was fighting for the medals along with representatives of other countries. Our team (couch Zaza Lezhava) the dignity of which was defended by Dimitri Kalandadze in a raw defeated the representatives of the following universities: Lisbon Innovation and Technologies (34:7), Coimbra (17:5), Moscow Aviation Universities (19:15), Sports Academy of Bulgaria (29:5) and Shumen University (40:0) and the teams of Pau (France 12:0) and the team of Hungary (47:0). On the final day of the championship Georgian rugby players defeated Rotendaniu (40:0), Moscow State University (30:0) and the rugby players of Po (28:17) and celebrated their debut at the championship of Europe with the golden medals.
