Iliauni in Global Public Policy Network

On February 8, Ilia State University signed a cooperation memorandum with Columbia University in New York City and East - West Management Institute (EWMI).

The new master’s degree program in Public Policy and Administration (MPP) will be launched within the frameworks of the memorandum.  The initiative is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

The memorandum was signed by Gigi tevzadze, Rector of Ilia State University; William Emek, Executive Director of the Picker Center at Columbia University; Arvid Lukauskas, Director of International Economic Policy and Management program; Fron Naz, Head of G-PAC program and Jonathan Conly, Director of USAID mission in Georgia.


The MMP program will run at Ilia State University, making its resources available to other universities in Georgia, giving to the regional institutions of higher education a particular attention. 

The MA program is one of the components of USAID-funded G-PAC program.   The main aim of G-PAC program is to strengthen a civil sector; to improve teaching of Public Policy and a quality of analysis in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia.  Apart from Master’s program, G-PAC offers grants of 10 000 USD to assist Georgian universities.
