IBR Research of Brands Market

Iliauni Business Review (IBR) carried out the research of brand clothes markets. The research aimed to reveal the difference in price between the original brand shops and falsified brand markets.  

The research showed that the level of brand falsification is incredibly high at the clothes market. Accordingly, this analysis is the prerequisite for the further research related to the scales of brand falsification. 

In the frame of this research, Iliauni Business Review studied the prices of four brands - Levis, Nike, Adidas and Pierre Cardin-at the registered brand shops and the prices of the relevant falsified products at the markets.

Within the framework of the research, the researchers studied the standard prices, not the sale prices. The research compared the original and falsified products of one brand at the shops and markets.

The research covered only the territory of Tbilisi. 

The research showed the significant differences in price between the original and falsified products of one brand at the shops and markets.

For instance: Pierre Cardin - average price difference -150 GEL,  Levis - average price difference - 200GEL, Adidas - average price difference – 130 GEL, Nike – average price difference – 250-300 GEL.

The maximum differences: Levis – 275 GEL (shirt), Adidas – 357 GEL (blouse), Nike -460 GEL (men’s shoe), Pierre Cardin – 230 GEL (men’s shoe). 

According to this research indicating the significant difference in price between the brand and falsified clothes, Iliauni Business Review (IBR) will conduct the next research on the scale of clothes falsification.
