Dr. Michael Sparer, Professor at Columbia University, delivered a public lecture on “Formation of Social Policy” at Ilia State University.

Mr. Sparer talked about the stages of social policy development, discussed the case of USA and drew parallels to the policy of the developing countries.  The audience was given a chance to express their opinions and address interesting questions.

The meeting was organized within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Ilia State University and Columbia University, under the auspices of East-West Management Institute (EWMI) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
