Autumn School “Russia's War in Ukraine and the Regional Dynamics of the Black Sea” was opened with the participation of Ukrainian students

The Autumn School “Russia's War in Ukraine and the Regional Dynamics of the Black Sea: actors, processes and perspectives” was opened for Ukrainian and Georgian students in partnership with Ilia State University and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung South Caucasus Foundation.

The school has 25 participants selected through a competition - students from various higher education institutions of Ukraine and Ilia State University.

Participants will attend lectures and seminars of Georgian and foreign professors, discuss the impact of the war on various economic, political and social changes in relation to the Black Sea region, as well as on the prospects of peace and cooperation in the region on the foundations of the Russian-Ukrainian war in the local, regional and international context for 5 days, including October 21.

Professor Nino Doborjginidze, the Rector of Ilia State University, spoke to the participants about the opening of the Autumn School and the importance of the project. Then, Stephan Malerius, Head of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung South Caucasus Foundation, gave a keynote speech on “Implications of the Russia-Ukraine War for European Security: A German Perspective”.

In addition to lectures-seminars, the school also includes practical and cultural parts, provides field sessions to get to know Tbilisi, Georgia, its history and culture better. Participants will also work on short documents at the school, which will be published in the school blog later.

Participants will be presented with certificates at the end.
