Autism Awareness Day at Iliauni

On April 2, Ilia State University Theatre hosted an event dedicated to the Autism Awareness Day. The autistic children with professional artists in a show produced by Tiko Muzashvili. Sophiko Kereselidze, Head of Autism Center, pointed that management of Autism is a complex process and requires rising awareness of the society.  The event will be held every year. 

In 2010, Autism Association of Georgia and Ilia State University signed a memorandum and launched Autism Center which is a training and education institution designed for pre-school autistic spectrum children. The center provides daily intensive and individual interventions by so-called ABA method with taking into consideration the experience of American analogs. Autism Center is also a practical-educational base where future psychologists have possibilities to acquire specific skills by working with autistic spectrum individuals.
