ALRAKIS Presentation at Iliauni

lia State University hosted a presentation of ALRAKIS, Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project.  Ilia State University is a regional coordinator of the project.

The Erasmus Mundus programme is a program of mobility and academic cooperation, aims to enhance the quality of higher education and promote dialogue and understanding between people and cultures through the collaboration with the third countries. 

The presentation was leaded by Carlos Machado, coordinator of ALRAKIS. Mr. Gigi Tevzadze, Rector of Ilia State University, Mr. Philip Dimitrov, Head of EU Delegation in Georgia and Ms. Tamar Beruchashvili, Chief Advisor to the State Minister of European Integration, made speeches and talked about the importance of the project and future plans.

AlRAKIS implies a mobility of students, academic and administrative personnel in the higher education institutions of EU and non-EU countries. In 2011, the consortium launched by Ilia State University in cooperation with the Göttingen University (Germany) was financed for the countries of the South Caucasus within the framework of the action 2 project. 

Eight universities are presented in the consortium:

  • Göttingen University, Germany- Grant Holder and Coordinator
  • Life Sciences University of Warsaw, Poland
  • Universidad Santiago de Compostela, Spain
  • Tallin University, Estonia
  • Università di Tuscia, Italy
  • KU Leuven, Belgium
  • KTH Stockholm
  • University of  Graz, Austria
