Ilia State University becomes a partner for “Technovation Girls Sakartvelo”

News

Technovation Girls is an international technology and entrepreneurship education program that equips young women ages 13-18 with the skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders.

With support from volunteer mentors, girls work in teams to develop technology projects (mobile apps or AI prototypes) that address real-world challenges. Girls learn programming basics to develop a working prototype of their idea and learn how to pitch and market their app.

This project is being organized by Total Courage Georgia, an NGO whose mission includes empowering girls through STEM education.  Partners in this project include Ilia State University, GITA, MAC Georgia,  the Youth Tech Clubs Network, the STEM Teachers Association of Georgia, and West Point Society of Georgia.

The leadership team includes:

Kathy Sheppard, Janet Smalley, Giorgi Janjalia, Maiko Mekokishvili and Negar Vahid. Negar Vahid is a computer engineering student at Ilia State University.

Girls can begin pre-registering their team on the website: shorturl.at/zL679
