

“Strengthening Korea-Georgia Relations toward Future Partnership” – Public Lecture by Ambassador Hyon Du Kim

On May 6, at 17:00, at Ilia State University Hall G106, Hyon Du Kim, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Georgia will deliver a public lecture, titled “Strengthening Korea-Georgia Relations toward Future Partnership.”
The speaker will cover the current state of bilateral relations and future cooperation between Korea and Georgia in a broad way. He will also describe the past development and current situation of Korea.
Ambassador Kim began his career in public service in 1998 as a mid-ranking official in the Ministry of Unification of the Korean government. At the ministry, he worked on promoting exchanges and cooperation between North and South Korea as well as improving the human rights of North Korea. In 2008 he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and began working as a diplomat. His previous postings abroad include countries like the US, UK, Hungary, Philippines, Ethiopia, and Guatemala.
He earned his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy (1993) from New York University (NYU) and M.A. in International Relations (1997) from the Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University in Korea.
