The presentation of Professor Irina Lobzhanidze's book “Finite-State Computational Morphology: An Analyzer and Generator for Georgian (see Springer Publishing https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-030-90248-3) will be held at the book house “Ligamus” of Ilia State University on October 22, at 16:00.

About the work

The work offers the results of research that has been conducted for years in the field of Georgian Language Corpus and Computer Processing at Ilia State University to the International Science Community. The book consists of three chapters and appendices. The first chapter is devoted to the morphosyntactic structure of the Georgian language; The second one to using the principles of finite-state technology to create the tokenizer and morphological analyzer of the Georgian language; The third chapter discusses the testing and evaluation of the analyzer results, and summarizes the main results of the research.

At the presentation, Prof. Nino Doborjginidze will summarize the results of the long-term project of creating the Georgian Language Corpus and a Morphological Analyzer at the Institute of Linguistic Studies. Prof. Sandro Asatiani, the head of cyber laboratory “Unilab”, and Temur Chichua, the programmer of the same laboratory, will talk about the technological resources created on the basis of the Morphological Analyzer.
