LARRY BLACK’S PUBLIC LECTURE – BEYOND RECYCLING: DESIGNING FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT

On April 13, at 15:00, at room E207 of Ilia State University, Senior Advisor of McDonough Sustainable Innovation Collaboration, Larry Black delivered a public lecture on the topic Beyond Recycling: Designing for Sustainable Waste Management.

The speaker addressed the question of whether “reduce, reuse, recycle,” is enough to address the growing problem of consumer waste. He will discuss the benefits of designing products for eco-effectiveness and environmental sustainability.

Regarding the Speaker

Larry Black is a Business development executive, consultant, professional speaker and executive coach in the environmental services, technology, consumer products, commercial real estate and retail sectors with extensive expertise in developing and delivering presentations and pitches which have generated over one billion dollars in sales of products and services primarily in the environmental services segment.

His fields of specialization include: sales and business development consulting, national and international waste and recycling expertise, creating corporate and government sustainability initiatives, developing large scale environmental solutions, sustainability goal development and environmental compliance. Consultative sales presentations and pitches for C-Suite audiences, designing and delivering customized training for B2B professional services, organizational change management, strategic marketing, team culture.
Larry Black is actively involved into the initiations for preserving environmental sustainability. The current projects envisages:

  • cooperation with 100 top companies of Fortune 200 in order to improve product packaging design in compliance with the principles of Cradle to Cradle®.
  • dealing with waste products and disposing them for commercial recycling.
  • presentation of product design at the waste management workshops.
