“Green Marketing” – Public Lecture by Claudia Maier

Events

On May 11, at 19:00, in Ilia State University auditorium E405, Claudia Maier, a study program director for the master’s program “International Business Relations” at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, (Austria) will deliver a public lecture. The event is organized by the Faculty of Business, Technology, and Education.

The topic: Green Marketing

About the Lecture

The lecture covers sustainable and social aspects in marketing, which are becoming increasingly important. On the one hand, companies need to implement green marketing into their strategy to remain competitive. Consumers are becoming more and more environmentally conscious and demand sustainable and environmentally friendly products, so companies need to satisfy these requirements. On the other hand, regulatory frameworks of governments around the world are becoming more stringent in terms of environmental regulations and sustainability. Companies must comply with these regulations to avoid fines.

The audience will learn about concepts of green marketing and sustainability in marketing, various examples of business models that address these concepts already, and examples of greenwashing used by companies to maintain a “green” image without incorporating sustainability into their strategies.
