On April 3, at 19:00, in connection with the opening of the Startup Grind University Chapter at Ilia State University, the first meeting will be held on the topic: Georgian-American Startup Ecosystems from the 90s to Today

The 1990s marked the beginning of many giant technology companies and modern economic principles. These companies were able to use new technologies and innovative business models to compete with traditional industries and create new markets.

During the event, we will review what processes have been taking place in the ecosystem from the 1990s to the present, using the example of the Georgian and American environment. Speakers at the meeting will talk about the challenges of the startup environment in 1990-2022 and share their experience.

David Chechelashvili - Strategy-oriented Tech Entrepreneur who operates at the intersection of technology and entertainment from 2004. Together with his business partners, he has founded 5 global startups, mainly in the fields of immersive visualization and artificial intelligence.  One of the startups is a well-known brand in the film industry and was at the forefront of the last wave of 3D technology (2005). In 2015, David returned to Georgia and participates in the development of the startup ecosystem. He teaches innovative entrepreneurship at Ilia State University.He is also the coordinator of the 500 Georgia Acceleration Program.

Ana Robakidze - Founder, CEO @ Theneo. Previously: Head of Engineering at Clientela, worked on hundreds of different APIs and in 2022  won a Web Summit Pitch competition.Theneo (YC W22) specializes in AI platform development focused on API documentation. The company develops, controls and maintains API documentation through artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Startup Grind is a global organization that unites up to 3 million entrepreneurs around the world. The main goal of the organization is to discover and facilitate the development of startups, knowledge sharing and the creation of entrepreneurial communities in an informal environment.

The goal of Startup Grind's university chapter is to create a community that will promote the presentation of Georgia's entrepreneurial potential in the international arena.
