BOOK FRIENDS AND IDEATORS CLUBS OVERVIEW EVENT

Events

On June 18, at 12:00 pm, the School of Education at Ilia State University will host a special event. An overview of the activities carried out by two clubs, Book Friends and Ideators, will be presented.

At the event, schoolchildren will showcase books and their interactive versions created under the guidance of both students and teachers

As part of the USAID Basic Education Program, the Iliauni School of Education implements the projects “Book Friends Club” and “Ideators Club” in 10 public schools in Kvemo Kartli, with the support of Cyber Laboratory UniLab. Elementary students, mentored by trainee teachers and school teachers, create handmade books and their interactive versions.

The project has brought together 120 schoolchildren, 21 teachers, and 10 student mentors.  In total, 72 digital and handmade projects have been prepared.

On June 18, the participants of the project will visit the university. They will showcase their handmade books and, with the help of student mentors, deliver brief presentations to introduce digital books. The schools will be awarded different sets of children's books.

Cooperation between schoolchildren, students, and teachers is an important process. The project helps teachers introduce innovative teaching methods, and share their experiences with students, and it lets the schoolchildren develop their creative skills and provides them with exciting and unforgettable experiences.

Specifically for this project, the Iliauni Cyber Lab has developed a website https://ibook.iliauni.edu.ge/The interactive versions of the books created by the participants have been uploaded to the website and are now accessible to everyone.
