Jana (Darejan) Javakhishvili, Professor of Ilia State University, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).

The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies is the world's most important interdisciplinary professional organization in psychotraumatology, which promotes the development and sharing of knowledge about traumatic stress.

This is the first instance of a Georgian psychologist being elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the most important society in the field.

Jana Javakhishvili will be a member of the Board of Directors of the society for a period of 3 years.
