Call for Applications, Summer School: “Security Perspectives in Eurasian Regional Context 2026”

The Summer School on “Security Perspectives in Eurasian Regional Context 2026,” organized by Ilia State University (Georgia) in partnership with the Department of Politics at Coastal Carolina University (USA), will take place in 2026 at Ilia State University’s Stephantsminda Research Base.
The Summer School aims to bring together local and international students to explore contemporary security challenges, strengthen analytical skills, and foster international academic collaboration.
Within the framework of the Summer School, Georgian and foreign professors will raise students’ awareness of key issues such as: theoretical and methodological perspectives of security studies, contemporary regional and global security challenges, and the evolving security dynamics in the Eurasian region.
In addition to the theoretical component, the Summer School includes practical and interactive activities such as workshops, group work, and training sessions aimed at developing analytical thinking, policy discussion skills, and academic collaboration.
Alongside academic sessions, participants will also engage in social and networking activities, including informal discussions, group activities, and light sports, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
Eligibility Criteria and Certification:
Bachelor’s and Master’s students of Ilia State University, majoring in Politics or International Relations, with a good command of English (minimum B2 level) and a strong interest in security studies are welcome to apply.
All students who successfully complete the Summer School will receive a certificate of participation.

Participation in the Summer School is fully funded and covers all essential expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and meals, for all selected students.
Number of Vacant Places: 12
Participant Selection:
Selection will take place in two stages:
- Application submission (May 5–15)
- Interview with the representatives of the organizing committee (May 20–22)
Selected candidates will be notified via email.
