The Vienna Center for Advanced Studies (ViCAS) at the University of Vienna has opened a call for fellowship applications for mid-career and advanced researchers.

ViCAS offers researchers the opportunity to pursue their research in an international and interdisciplinary academic environment at one of Europe's leading universities.

Financial support: Fellows receive a monthly salary, including an accommodation allowance and child allowance (where applicable), or a financial contribution to their home institution (please refer to the programme guidelines for details).

Application deadline: 28 August 2026

• 16 June 2026: ViCAS proudly announced its inaugural fellows. A total of 19 researchers (10 advanced fellows and 9 mid-career fellows) will join the University of Vienna for a 9-month fellowship, from 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027.
• 15 June 2026: The ViCAS Fellowships 2027–2028 call officially opened.
