Professor Nino Doborjginidze has been elected Rector of Ilia State University for a second term, following the decision of the Academic Council on February 2, 2026.

Nino Doborjginidze, PHD in Linguistics, professor at the Ilia State University, has been working at Ilia State University since the day of its establishment. An extensive biography of Nino Doborjginidze is available at the link.

The competition for the position of Rector of the Ilia State University was announced on 19 December 2025.

Nino Doborjginidze will lead the university for a four-year term.
