Eka Chkoidze, associate professor of Ilia State University, will deliver a public speech on: “Alexandre Kvipreli and the Georgian translations of his writings” as part of the permanent seminar of the Center for the Study of the Middle Ages of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Ilia State University on November 3, at 19:00.
About the speech:
Alexandre Kvipreli belongs to those writers of the Middle Ages, about whom little information can be found. Georgian translations of his writings are ancient and especially important for the study of this author.
In addition, the speech will be not only about the author, but also his most famous work on the Cross - the extant Georgian manuscripts containing this work and the probable reason why it was particularly popular in medieval Georgia.
