Workshop "Applying Photogrammetry Method in Historical Heritage Studies"
Events
On November 27, Ilia State University will host an international workshop titled "Applying Photogrammetry Method in Historical Heritage Studies" as part of the research project ‘Interdisciplinary Research and Documentation of the Architectural Heritage of Uznadze Street in Tbilisi’ (FR-23-6740) funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The project comprises archival, artistic, and field studies, including the measurement and documentation of buildings. Photogrammetry, which was selected as the primary technique for the research, allows for the creation of architectural documentation (drawings) through the capture and post-processing of photographic images using specialized software.
Italian colleagues from the Institute of Heritage Science (Istituto di Scienze del Patrimonio Culturale) possess a wealth of experience in this direction. One of the leading experts of the institute, Daniele Ferdani, with whom the Georgian counterparts have maintained a long-standing collaboration, will share his expertise with his colleagues. The event aims to examine worldwide experience and practices, facilitate information exchange between Georgian and Italian scientists and promote the use of the photogrammetry method.
The workshop participants will include:
Daniele Ferdani, National Research Council, Institute of Heritage Science (Rome);
Giorgi Partskhaladze, Ilia State University;
Ekaterine Kiknadze, Theatre and Film State University;
Davit Nioradze, Publishing House "Artanuji," PhD student at Tbilisi State Academy of Art;
Tatia Ghvineria, International Black Sea University, PhD student at Tbilisi State Academy of Art.
