International Conference “The Middle East and the Caucasus: Culture, History, Politics”

On December 19, at 10:00 a.m., the International Conference “The Middle East and the Caucasus: Culture, History, Politics,” organized by the Giorgi Tsereteli Institute of Oriental Studies, will open in Auditorium T102 at Ilia State University. The event is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Academician Giorgi Tsereteli and the 95th anniversary of the birth of Academician Tamaz Gamkrelidze. The conference will be conducted on December 20 and 21.

On December 22, a roundtable will also be held to discuss the results of the first year of the project “Perception of Georgia and Armenia in Western and Eastern Sources (Middle Ages and Early Modern Period)” (FR-23-10274-1), supported by the Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation.

On December 22-23, a final international conference of the project “Ethnoreligious Mosaics of Tbilisi (1801-1921)” (FR-21-8081), supported by the Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation, will take place.
