


Presentation of New Graduate Programs of the Ilia State University
On June 9, Ilia Chavchavadze Saguramo House hosted presentation of four new graduate programs of the Ilia State University. These programs are: Georgian Studies, Caucasus and Black Sea Region Studies, Identity Studies and Soviet and Post-Soviet Studies.
Graduate programs of the Ilia State University are unique for Georgia. They are based on inter- and multidisciplinary research principles, meeting the international standards of humanitarian and social sciences.
A number of scholars of humanitarian and social sciences will conduct joint studies on various research topics at the Ilia State University. The involvement of future PhD scholars in the ongoing researches offers the young researchers a good chance to analyze the objects of their studies from various perspectives.The program of Georgian Studies comprises a number of fields such as political studies, history, sociology, philology, demography, ethnography, social and humanitarian sciences will conduct a joint study of political transformation of Georgia, modernization of society, aspects of culture and the most recent history.
Ilia State University is the only University in Georgia to offer free PhD level education.
