Presentation of Cooperation Results of Ilia State University and Basketball Federation of Georgia
December 24, presentation of the book "Basketball for Young Players: Guidelines for Coaches" was hosted by the Ilia State University.
It was attended by the President of the Basketball Federation of Georgia Mr. Besik Liparteliani and other representatives of the Federation. The manual is the product of cooperation between the Ilia State University and the Basketball Federation of Georgia. It is put together by high rank professionals and is based on the FIBA program.
Compilers of the book are: Patrick Baumann (Deputy Secretary General of FIBA), Anton Maria Comas (President of the European Association of Basketball Coaches), Jose María Buceta (Secretary General of the European Association of Basketball Coaches), Aleksandar Avakumovic (President of the BAM Passerelle Movement), Maurizio Mondoni (Member of FIBA Mini-Basketball European Committee), László Killik (Member of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Basketball Coaches).
Presentation was followed by an awarding ceremony. Students and coaches of the Ilia State University, who became winners of the Universiada were given Certificates of honor and money prizes. They represented the following disciplines: basketball, rugby, wrestling, table tennis, swimming, volleyball. chess, streetball, judo, Georgian wrestling and triathlon.
Special awards went to the students and their tutors who became winners of the students' scientific conference. The annual conference which sets the goal to encourage successful students is organized by the center "Academy of Sports".
