He is one of the established researchers of Russia-Georgia war. Asmus’ book “A Little War that Shook the World” presents a very interesting review of the August war and contains specific facts and details, which still remain unknown to the general public.

Ronald Asmus visited Georgia for the presentation of his book. During the meeting at the Ilia State University he talked about his work and his vision of possible development of the situation. He reported about the sources, which were used in the book and commented on criticism towards the work.

The American expert assesses his work that shook the world in the following way: “I am critical towards the West as well as towards Georgia and Russia... This was a little war, which left us with big questions. In my book I wanted to provoke a big discussion on war, European security, role of Russia in Europe”.
