ISU PROFESSORS AND RESEARCHERS ACHIEVE SUCCESS

News

On October 10, at the final event of the International Science and Innovation Festival, the winners of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Competition called “the best scientist and group of scientists” were announced.

Ilia State University professors and researchers received three nominations in the competition.

  • Ilia State University professor Timothy Blauvelt received the nomination of the best foreign scientist of 2017 specializing in the field of Kartvelology.
  • Ilia State University professor Tamar Makharoblidze received the nomination of the best scientist of 2017 specializing in Georgian studies;
  • Ilia State University researchers and professors Temur Zakarashvili, Vasil Kukhianidze and David Kuridze were named as the best science research group of the year.

For their contribution to the field of science in Georgia, Certificates of Merit have been awarded to:

  • Levan Mumladze as the best young scientist of 2017; he received an encouragement certificate; 
  • Temur Zakarashvili; he received Certificate of Merit as the best scientist of 2017;
  • The best science research group of 2017 involving Omar Kurtanidze, Maia Nikolaishvili, and Lorand Sigua received the Certificate of Merit.  

The best science research group of 2017 involving Davit Mikeladze, Elene Juravliova, Tamar Barbakadze   and Lali Shanshiashvili received the Certificate of Merit.

Ilia State University congratulates the scientists on this great success.
