Information Corner of the Teacher Professional Development Center at the Ilia Chavchavadze State University
On Tuesday, December the 1st, Teacher Professional Development Center launched an Information Corner at the Ilia Chavchavadze State University. It sets the goal to inform students and lecturers about activities of the Center, encourage involvement of the students in different projects and hence increase the rate of their employment. The Corner is supposed to be a place where future teachers will get familiar with professional literature, find out about local and international contests, participate in workshops organized to aid their professional development. It is planed to establish similar Information Corners of the Teacher Professional Development Center in seven Georgian universities (Kutaisi, Batumi, Telavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ilia Chavchavadze State University). The Teacher Professional Development Center is responsible for elaboration of teachers' professional standards and their certification. Project sets the goal to supply future teachers with necessary literature concerning development of their professional skills.
