ILIAUNI YOUNG RESEARCHERS WON THE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE SHOTA RUSTAVELI NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION OF GEORGIA

Competitions

Six young researchers from Ilia State University won the grant funding competition 2022 of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.

Among the winning projects are:

  • Davit Maisuradze - Developing Domestic Strategies for Regulating the Securities Markets and Protecting Investors - Challenges and Recommendations
  • Elene Gavashelishvili - Between the See and the Land: Work and Family Lives of Georgian Sailors
  • Tatia Kekelia - Gender bias in Court
  • Tamar Lekveishvili-Fazli Beg Khuzani Isfahani’s “A chronicle of the reign of Shah Abbas” – a new source for studying the history of Georgia and Georgian-Iranian relations in the first half of the 17th century (study, translation, commentaries)
  • Levan Tielidze – The Little Ice Age Glacier-Climate Reconstruction in the Greater Caucasus
  • Lasha Sukhishvili - Landslide process detection and motion dynamics modelling using satellite inSAR and simulation model within the Tbilisi area

The competition aims to identify and encourage talented young scientists through open competition by funding individual innovative research projects, promoting the quality of research with the support of young scientists' research projects, deepening research cooperation and thematic or interdisciplinary scientific cooperation and increasing the country's scientific potential and also, strengthening and improving the scientific-research activities of the Georgian higher education institution.

The evaluation of the projects was carried out in 3 stages by independent experts of the European Science Foundation (European Science Foundation - Science Connect, ESF-SC).
