ILIA STATE UNIVERSITY AND SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY TO START NEW CAMPUS

On August 7, Ilia State University together with San Diego State University is starting to build a new campus. The four-storey, 4750 square meter building of the education institution is planned to be constructed near Vake Park, on Cholokashvili Street within cooperation between SDSU Georgia and Ilia State University. The campus which is set to be completed in autumn 2018 will be equipped with the latest technology; classrooms of SDSU Georgia, work spaces and electrical engineering and construction engineering laboratories will be incorporated into it.

A festive opening ceremony will be held by dean of San Diego State University in Georgia Ken Walsh and rector of Ilia State University Giga Zedania. The ceremony will also be attended by the representatives of Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia and Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), members of the academic board of Ilia State University and other guests.

San Diego State University offers American bachelor’s degree programmes in construction engineering, civil engineering, computer sciences, computer engineering, electronic engineering and chemistry/biochemistry. Students can enjoy the possibility to continue studies in SDSU California Campus for a semester or a year. The programme partners in Georgia are Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, and Technical University of Georgia. The project is being carried out with financial assistance of the second compact of the U.S. Government foreign aid agency called MMC.
