


Google Women Techmakers and Ilia State University Hackathon for Students

Organized by Google Women Techmakers and Ilia State University, the "Redefine Possible" hackathon will take place on April 10-11 as part of the global campaign for International Women’s Day.
This is the seventh time a Women Techmakers event is being held in Georgia. The program is dedicated to overcoming gender challenges in technology and creating a world where every woman can thrive in tech. This year’s theme, "Redefine Possible," aims to create new opportunities through technology and innovation and ensure their broad accessibility.
Over two days, the hackathon will bring together educational sessions, networking activities, and teamwork, where participants will work on technological innovations that support education, digital inclusion, civic engagement, and professional development.
About the Hackathon:
Who can participate?
Anyone aged 18 and above from various fields, including students, teachers, entrepreneurs, journalists, designers, programmers, innovators, and anyone interested in technology, innovation, and making a positive social impact.
Is registration individual or team-based?
Registration is available both individually and as a team. If registering individually, participants can form or join a team on the first day of the hackathon.
The minimum team size is 2, and the maximum is 4 members.
For team registration, one representative should complete the form and provide contact details for all members.
Hackathon Themes:
Participants will work on technological innovations that promote digital inclusion, knowledge sharing, and inclusivity. The suggested themes include:
- Digital inclusion and accessibility in education
- Digital security and cyber ethics
- Innovations for professional development
- Storytelling and interactive media
Beyond these suggested themes, participants are free to choose any other tech-related idea that aligns with the hackathon's overall theme and supports digital inclusion, security, and accessibility.

The hackathon will take place in person at Ilia State University in Tbilisi. The event will begin on April 10, with a demo day, pitching session, and award ceremony on April 11.

Selected participants will be contacted no later than April 8. An informational meeting will be held online via Zoom on April 9 at 18:00 for selected participants. (The meeting link will be shared with them.) Selected participants must bring their own laptops.
