Fourteen Iliauni Master Student Wins Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation Research Grant

Fourteen Master’s students of Ilia State University have won the 2021 MA Research grant funding from Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
Winning projects include:
- Ekaterine Veshapidze (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project “Links between Self-Stigma and Well-being Indicators
- Sophio Khokhonishvili (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „The role of PICK1 and DAT interaction in the molecular mechanism of p-cresol induced depression.“
- Tornike Mkalavishvili (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project „Interdisciplinary research of the Middle Paleolithic open-air sites of Abulmuki, Sazano and Narli Dara.“
- Nino Khutsishvili (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project „Research of Hellenistic period Colchian ceramic according to Nokalakevi archaeological materials.“
- Giorgi Chilingarashvili (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Acute Myeloid Leukemia Risk Mutation Assessment in Georgian Population Followed After Myelodysplastic and Myeloproliferative Disorders.“
- Nana Zardiashvili (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project „Models of alternate History in Georgian and Italian Novels. “
- Medea Barbariani (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project „Individual's psychological characteristics and coping strategies to deal with pandemic-related difficulties.“
- Luka Kharkhelauri (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Research of Hellenistic period Colchian ceramic according to Nokalakevi archaeological materials.“
- Ani Gabritchidze (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „The Ichthyofauna of the Iori river: current state and assessment of the species vulnerability.“
- Ana Manjikashvili (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Construction of control phylogeny of rock lizards (genus-Darevskia) based on nuclear markers."
- Natia Tsabadze (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Short periodic cycles in sun-like stars activity. “
- Nino Chocheli (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Retinoic acid-related orphan receptor-alpha and recognition memory of imprinting in domestic chic. “
- Lika Lolashvili (Master Student of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University) – Project „Women's Rights in Adyghe Khabz and Dagestan Adat Law – Women’s Cultural-Political Role in the Caucasus. “
- Davit Tsiklauri (Master Student of Faculty of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Ilia State University) – Project „Velocity Field Study of Racha-Lechkhumi Segment of Gagra-Java Fault.“
MA research grants aim to support quality enhancement in scientific studies, raise the academic level and development of research skills - related to the master's thesis of students enrolled at the accredited Master’s educational program, as well as improve higher educational institutions research capacity and integration of research in learning processes and support development of thematic and/or interdisciplinary research activities.
