On July, Ilia State University hosted a meeting of representatives of the association “Rondine” with the students and professors of the Ilia State University. During the meeting,  attendees were presented preamble of the document which was elaborated on an international conference of Caucasian People (VENTIDIPACESUCAUCASO/ Wind of Peace on Caucasus). The title of the document is “14 Points of Rondine – For Peace in the Caucasus” („14 Punti per la Pace nel Caucaso“).

The documents is symbolically based on the “14 Points” of the President Wilson that was elaborated 90 years ago and provided a basis for the creation of the organization of the United Nations. The idea to conduct the confernce was suggested by Georgian, Russian, Abkhaz, Ossetian, Chechen and Ingush students of Caucasian origin who are the members of the association „Rondine Cittadella della Pace“ as a response to the Russia Georgia war of August 2008.

According to the President of the Association, Franco Vaccari, document of “14 Points” which was elaborated during the international conference by students, professors and experts is of great importance as it is based on specific practical experience of students from different countries that are challenged by conflicts.
The ninth paragraph of the document foresees support of the university initiatives in organizing the exchange programs for teachers and students within the region, as well as planning the study trips of Caucasian students to foreign universities. The main goal of the project is to contribute to conflict resolution and the establishment of peace thought education and cooperation.
