Ambassador of the United Kingdom Delivers a Public Lecture
On Tuesday, December the 8th, Ambassador of the United Kingdom Mr. Denis Keefe held a public lecture "Policy of the United Kingdom in the Caucasus." According to the Ambassador interest of the United Kingdom towards the Caucasus is determined by three important topics: Future of Europe, future of security and future of the Russian Federation. Hence, existence of democratic and stable states in Georgia and entire Caucasian region is of great importance for the Great Britain. Denis Keefe also talked about Russian-Georgian relationships and specific results of the August War. In his opinion, euro-atlantic integration will contribute a lot to the development of democracy in Georgia. Mr. Ambassador said: "The only way out of an existing situation lies over the movement towards democracy and establishment of close relationships with European states." Questions of the students were mostly concentrated on the problems of Russian-Georgian relationship and potential role of European structures in its resolution.
