A join summer school of Ilia State University and Coastal Carolina University has opened

A summer school “Security Perspectives in the Eurasian Regional Context” in Bazaleti, organized by Political Science and International Relations Program of Ilia State University and the Department of Political Science of Coastal Carolina University (USA), has opened on May 23.
The school is funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
24 Georgian and American students from different universities are participating in the school. American and Georgian professors will familiarize them with the theoretical and methodological perspectives of security research, as well as the security context of the Eurasian region and the policies of global and regional actors in relation to the region. In addition to the theoretical component, the program also covers practical activities, including working in working groups and training in the development of a Policy Brief and the art of negotiation.
Later, the students will visit the occupation line of the Russian-occupied Samachablo region, the Tserovani IDP settlement, the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, and will be able to get information about Georgia's national security and on the state policy in the occupied territories from different perspectives.
Summer school will last until May 29th.
Participants will be awarded certificates at the end of the school.
