Training for academic staff within the Prodige Project

News

From April 22 to May 7, 2025, academic staff of Ilia State University attended an online training course on the Quality of Digital Education, aimed at strengthening the university’s capacity in designing and evaluating digitally enhanced higher education. The two-week training was delivered through a blended format, combining asynchronous coursework with two synchronous sessions, and brought together academic staff and administrators engaged in digital teaching and learning.

The training provided participants with an in-depth understanding of quality assurance frameworks at the European, national (Estonian), institutional, and course levels. Drawing from Estonia's best practices, the sessions explored quality criteria based on the “Quality Label” model and equipped participants with tools to analyse online and blended learning courses critically.

Throughout the course, participants worked in groups to conduct self-assessments of selected digital courses using a structured evaluation template. The results were presented on May 7 during the second live session, followed by expert feedback and a collective discussion on the potential and challenges of quality assurance for digital education in the Georgian higher education context.
